Soila Sarria has danced ballet, jazz and modern dance since she was 6 years old. On 1995 she studied dance and pedagogy at Steps On Broadway Academy in New York. Later on she participated on courses in African dances in Mali, West-Africa. On 1997 she made her first journey to Cuba and studied Cuban modern and popular dances in Havana (ENA, Escuela Nacional de Arte). In her next trips to Cuba she took courses at ENA and in Santiago de Cuba (Teatro de la danza del Caribe).

Soila has won twice the Scandinavian and Finnish Salsa Championship. As a teacher she is encouraging, but demanding. Soila´s energetic performing has been praised in many events in Finland as well as on international festivals.

Soila has taught bachata together with her partner Yasser Sarria since 1993. She has travelled around Europe participating in various international salsa festivals where she has also teach bachata combining sensual feminine moves to the basic partnerwork. In addition she choreographed together with her partner Yasser Sarria bachata show in for Latvian dance group Nianse and they won first prize in a local competition.”
